Southern AgCredit Announces Board Appointment

Southern AgCredit’s Board of Directors recently appointed Pepper Roberts of Belzoni, Mississippi, to the rural lending cooperative board.

Roberts will serve the remainder of the term of Larry W. Killebrew, who passed away earlier in 2026.

Roberts is a partner in Van Buren Farms II, a cattle and row-crop operation in Humphreys County, Mississippi, that produces cotton, corn and soybeans. He also serves as vice president of Roberts Farms, Inc., where he oversees land and equipment operations, and is a shareholder in POR Lands, LLC and Decvelente Lands, LLC. In addition, he is a partner in Delta Air, Inc., an agricultural aviation operation. Roberts is active in numerous agricultural and community organizations. He serves on the boards of Farmers Grain Terminal, Indianola Academy, the Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation and the Humphreys County Farm Bureau. He also serves as chairman of the board for Mid Delta Cotton Processors. Roberts also serves his church and community. He is chairman of the Deacon Board at Eastside Baptist Church in Belzoni, where he and his wife, Crystal, teach a youth Sunday school class. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering technology from Mississippi State University. Roberts and his wife, Crystal, have been married for 29 years and have three children.
